    Areas of work of the department:

    • Detection of 761 indicators of quality and safety of plant and animal origin products, food, feed, premixes, vitamins, water, beverages (including alcoholic) cosmetics, soils, which are accredited in accordance with the requirements of DSTU EN ISO / IEC 17025: 2019;
    • Diagnosis and prevention of diseases of non-communicable etiology, hypovitaminosis, poisoning, mycotoxicosis, dermatomycoses;
    • Development and implementation “Plan of the State monitoring of residues of veterinary drugs and contaminants in live animals, unprocessed food and feed”;
    • Organization of interlaboratory comparative tests with PPT “VET-TEST” for chemical and toxicological indicators, as an accredited provider of proficiency testing in accordance with DSTU EN ISO / IEC 17043: 2017.
    • Organizing and conducting trainings, scientific and practical seminars, advanced training, education, internships for specialists of state and other testing laboratories.

    Elisa-test laboratory and determination of mycotoxins

    Determination of the following indicators in food products of plant and animal origin, raw materials, feeds, feed additives, beverages, water:

     

    • Mycotoxins: ochratoxin A (TLC, HPLC), aflatoxins B1, B2, G1, G2 (TLC, HPLC), aflatoxin M1 (HPLC), T-2 toxin (TLC, ELISA), zearalenone (TLC, ELISA, HPLC), deso (TLC, ELISA, HPLC), fumonisin (TLC, ELISA, HPLC), patulin (TLC, HPLC).
    • Allergens: gliadin, histamine (HPLC).
    • Stilbene: diethylstilbestrol (ELISA).
    • Nitrosamines are a TLC method.
    • Toxicity is a biological method on Tetrachimena periformis, rabbits, and white mice.
    • Dermatomycoses – a microbiological method.
    • Toxic, mold fungi – a microscopic, biological method.

    Equipment: liquid chromatographs with double mass spectrometer LC / MS / MS Waters TQD, WatersXevo, liquid chromatographs with fluorescent detector Thermo.

    Determination of residual quantities of veterinary drugs in products of animal origin:

    • stilbene (diethylstilbestrol, dienestrol, hexestrol);
    • synthetic steroids (17-β-estradiol, 19-nor-testosterone, boldenone;
    • nitrofurans (AOZ, AMOZ, SEM, AHD);
    • nitroimidazoles (metronidazole, ronidazole, dimetridazole, hydroxydimetridazole, ipronidazole, hydroxyipronidazole, hydroxymetronidazole, ternidazole);
    • β-lactam antibiotics (penicillin, oxacillin, naphcillin, dicloxacillin, cloxacillin, amoxicillin, ampicillin);

    Determination of toxic elements and micro-, macroelements in water, beverages and alcoholic products: aluminum, antimony, arsenic, boron, cadmium, chromium, cobalt, copper, iron, lead, manganese, molybdenum, selenium, argentum, sodium, zinc, potassium, calcium, phosphorus by inductively coupled optical emission spectrometry.

    Equipment: analytical emission spectrometer with inductively coupled plasma Analytik Jena Plasma Q 9000, atomic absorption spectrophotometers Varian 240 Z Varian 55B Thermo Solar, mercury analyzer Milestone DMA-80.

    • pesticides – by GC / DEZ, GC / MS, RH / MS-MS, IX / MS / MS and TLC;
    • non-dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) – by GC / DEZ, GC / MS methods;
    • volatile organic compounds (VOCs) – by GC / DEZ, GC / PID methods;
    • polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (surfactants) – GC / MS method; GC / PID method;
    • chlorates, perchlorates (IX / MS / MS);
    • sterols – by GC / PID method;
    • fatty acid methyl esters (FFA) – GC / PID method;
    • triglycerides – by GC / PID method.

    Scientific and methodical work of the department:

    • Development of National Standards of Ukraine, methodical recommendations, patents, other regulatory documentation;
    • Providing methodological assistance to chemists-toxicologists of state laboratories of the State Tax Service by conducting annual all-Ukrainian seminars, conducting trainings, internships on the basis of SSILDVSE, training of chemists-toxicologists at the Institute of Postgraduate Education;
    • Organization and holding of interlaboratory comparative rounds for the purpose of professional testing of chemists-toxicologists according to the VET-TEST program;
    • Specialists of the department take part in rounds of professional testing both at the international level – FAPAS and at the national level;
    • Carrying out of research work in the corresponding directions, postgraduate study, performance of the initiative-search theme “Development and improvement of methods of definition of medicines and toxicants at poisoning of animals and bees”.
